About Allegra Bel

Enthralled with the harp at a young age, Allegra Bel Embley’s harp journey began after crafting persuasive essays to convince her parents the harp was her life’s mission.

Allegra Bel’s deep passion continues as she keeps an active performing schedule, committed to sharing her love of music through the beautiful and enchanting sounds of the harp. She has performed over the years at a variety of special events across the United States and Germany, including weddings, receptions, corporate events, church services, memorials, and school programs. Her adventures have led to pleasing crowds of hundreds at various venues, including Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and World of Coca Cola in Atlanta. She also enjoys regularly playing with various orchestral and ensemble groups and accompanying choirs and soloists.

In addition to performing, Allegra Bel maintains a private teaching studio. Incorporating her neuroscience background and specific interests in the brain health and music relationship, she tailors lessons to students’ specific needs, designed to make learning music fun and effective.

Ambitious and dedicated, Allegra Bel continued her harp studies with a minor in music while earning a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brigham Young University. She has been privileged to privately study harp with several different harpists, including the late world-renowned Dr. Carrol McLaughlin at University of Arizona and Dr. Cathy Clayton at University of Utah. Most recently, she studied with Dr. Gillian Benet Sella, and graduated with a Master of Music in Harp Performance at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
